Spike is the Aussie Curves theme this week and I definitely do not have a shortage of clothing with spikes on.
I could have gone with my Kaleidoscope dress as it has spikes on the shoulders, but I used that for Bodycon week. I could have worn my leopard top, as that too has spikes on the shoulders, but, once again, I had already used that for Time Saver. I sure do like clothing with spikes.
So there I was, scratching my head, wondering what else did I have? When I finally remembered the cardigan I have with spikes on the shoulder. City Chic really does like putting spikes on its clothing, huh? And I can’t help but buy them.
Hello duck face.
Starting with the cardigan I slowly pieced an outfit together. I kept it pretty simple this week, as I haven’t really been feeling all that great. I wanted a top which was a contrast to the black. This singlet fit the bill. Even the pattern is a bit spiky, don’t you think? Technically it is an Aztec print.
Keeping with the casual look, I decided to wear jeans. I’ve been having a bit of bad luck with jeans lately – I’m down two pairs since moving back to Wellington – so these were the lucky pair. They kind of fit the theme as well with the detail studs on the thighs. Hell, even my shoes have spikes/studs on them.
Short and sharp from me this week, but you can have some more pictures as Man Piece took heaps. Background for the photos this week is the Wellington Boathouses at Oriental Parade.

Snap! City Chic have so many great studded cardis! I love that I’ve seen three of us wearing CC cardis/jumpers for this challenge but they’re all different.
xo
Haha, I know, right?! CC definitely likes using studs on its clothing.
I really like this look on you. Maybe it’s because I’m coveting that whole outfit.
Another great studded cardi, loving the blue shoes too Lisa, the background looks so beautiful, I really must go to New zealand one day x
Thanks! You really should. It is such a beautiful country. Plus it’s only a couple of hours on a plane. I don’t know why more Aussies don’t do it regularly.
this is so casual chic, you look amazing! great scenery too
Loving both the outfit and the backdrop! What a stunning photo location x
Those jeans are awesome! I have so much trouble finding pants I like on. Go all the spikes, and after you mentioned it, City Chic really do like spikes, don’t they!?
They really do! I have so much trouble finding pants as well. mostly because of my apple shape. But I find the CC ones just work for me, not all of them, but most.
This is a really lovely casual look. You and the CC studded items = match made in heaven! 🙂
Thanks all! I think I’m going to have to use this as a backdrop more often!
