Aussie Curves – Favourite Store

I’m in two minds about my favourite store.

The store I likely buy most of my clothes from is City Chic, mostly because I know they are going to fit and the clothes suit my style.

I remember when the first stores opened in New Zealand – I fell in love immediately with all the clothes and I haven’t stopped shopping there since. Finally there was a store which had stylish clothes that actually fit me, it was amazing. I still have the first dress I ever bought from the Lambton Quay store. I haven’t worn it in years, but I can’t bear to part with it.

Although I have started to shop around a bit more and buy online, I probably still buy at least one thing from City Chic every few weeks. I can’t help it.

Aussie Curves – Monochrome

I love me a bit of monochrome dressing. Usually is is more the black than the white, but I’m slowly expanding my wardrobe to include a few more lighter colours.

I tend to dress in a lot of black, or at least have a base of black with one bright piece to stand out.

So I had the ideal top to use for Monochrome week and it has been dubbed my referee’s top.

There’s not much to say about this top – it’s a good one to wear with a pair of jeans and blazer for work and I can easily get away with layering it.

Today I’ve partnered it with my new ponte pants I picked up at Farmers’ sale last weekend and I have to say, ponte pants are amazing. They’re like leggings, but a much thicker material, so you can actually wear them as pants. I’ve been a little dubious about wearing this top with leggings, but it works amazingly with the ponte pants. I might be investing in a few more pairs for the winter.

I also picked up this wet-look waterfall blazer at the Farmers’ sale last week and it is glorious. It’s kind of a cross between a blazer and a jacket. I could easily wear it over a light jumper for an extra layer.

The waterfall blazer looks to be a big trend this winter – I’ve found similar ones at a few other stores as well. If you’re after one, have a look at these ones from ASOS, Ezibuy, City Chic, or the Farmers one I am wearing here.

Thanks to Ezmae from Flashion Affair for taking pictures for me today!

Also, don’t you love my derelict shed? It actually proved to be quite the interesting photo backdrop. It does have some uses.

Aussie Curves – Activewear

This week’s Aussie Curves theme is Activewear. I’ve spent a lot of time hunting for some good exercise gear that was actually cool, comfortable and fit me.

I came across a new brand in Farmers a few months ago called Super Fit Curve (they also have a straight size line). The items are bright and comfortable. I’m definitely keen to keep an eye out for when more items are released.

Aussie Curves – Night Out

Hi! I’m still alive. Kind of.

I haven’t been feeling that great about what I have been wearing or what I look like lately. So mostly I’ve just been avoiding it all and wearing/doing the bare basics.

Which means I have not been feeling inspired to do any Aussie Curves posts or outfits (even just to an Instagram fall-back). I’m not really sure why either, just feeling blah about it all.

But today I am going to attempt a short and sweet post for Night Out.

A happy coincidence meant that Man Piece and I actually did have a night out this week to Empire, which is currently showing in Wellington. (It’s like the circus meets burlesque, with a whole heap of funny thrown in there. Definitely worth going to.)

We had a bit of food at Mac’s Brewbar…

Then indulged in a bit of a show…

(All the sticks are balanced carefully on his head.)

And I managed to get Man Piece to get a picture of my outfit…

Aussie Curves – Tee

This week’s Aussie Curve theme is Tee. I have been thinking all week which tee to wear and trying to figure out which one I have available to me that I have not used in a blog before. I was almost going to pass on this week (because I’m sick, again), but then I remembered there was a t-shirt that I haven’t blogged about and that I do actually have in my tiny apartment wardrobe.

I’m sure you’ll all recognise it, it’s one you’ve seen many times before, just not on me.
