Aussie Curves – Monochrome

I love me a bit of monochrome dressing. Usually is is more the black than the white, but I’m slowly expanding my wardrobe to include a few more lighter colours.

I tend to dress in a lot of black, or at least have a base of black with one bright piece to stand out.

So I had the ideal top to use for Monochrome week and it has been dubbed my referee’s top.

There’s not much to say about this top – it’s a good one to wear with a pair of jeans and blazer for work and I can easily get away with layering it.

Today I’ve partnered it with my new ponte pants I picked up at Farmers’ sale last weekend and I have to say, ponte pants are amazing. They’re like leggings, but a much thicker material, so you can actually wear them as pants. I’ve been a little dubious about wearing this top with leggings, but it works amazingly with the ponte pants. I might be investing in a few more pairs for the winter.

I also picked up this wet-look waterfall blazer at the Farmers’ sale last week and it is glorious. It’s kind of a cross between a blazer and a jacket. I could easily wear it over a light jumper for an extra layer.

The waterfall blazer looks to be a big trend this winter – I’ve found similar ones at a few other stores as well. If you’re after one, have a look at these ones from ASOS, Ezibuy, City Chic, or the Farmers one I am wearing here.

Thanks to Ezmae from Flashion Affair for taking pictures for me today!

Also, don’t you love my derelict shed? It actually proved to be quite the interesting photo backdrop. It does have some uses.

Aussie Curves – Job Interview

This week I had grand plans to put together my outfit for Aussie Curves – Job Interview early and get it all blogged and done before Friday.

But the best laid plans and all…

Sure, I had put it off for a couple of days because I hadn’t quite figured out the entire outfit, but I was getting there. Thursday was going to be the day.

Then in the early hours of Thursday morning I had a rather rude awakening in the form of my dinner deciding to come back up (gross). I won’t go into any other details, but two days off work and four days later after a diet of not very much, I’m still not feeling that great. But I am getting better.

Which is why, at the last hour, I have come to write my Job Interview post for Aussie Curves.

Last night I spent a few hours going through multitudes of photos sorting them into various folders to try and find a couple of photos of my outfits from when I was actually interviewing for jobs a few months ago. Lucky for you, I found them.

Aussie Curves – Everyday Style

I had great plans for this week, but alas, life got in the way and I failed the goal I had set myself.

The idea for this week was that I was going to wear what I normally wear to work and just make sure I got an outfit photo everyday. The aim being at the end of five days I would have successfully posted a photo on Instagram every day and I would have five photos to make up the post for this week’s Aussie Curves challenge.

I managed two. Two out of five. Utter fail much?

My everyday style is quite simple. Usually it revolves around jeans and a top of some kind. Lately I have been rocking the singlet and jumper combo. Wellington has decided to turn on the cold finally (just when Spring is approaching!)

Aussie Curves – Denim

So another year of Aussie Curves begins!

The only denim items in my wardrobe are many pairs of jeans, so when it came to deciding what to wear my decision was pretty much made for me.

But of course if I was just going to wear jeans, they were going to be the best pair of jeans I own – a pair of City Chic’s TDFs.

Aussie Curves – Leather

I’ve missed a couple of weeks for Aussie Curves because I’ve been quite busy.

I started work again a few weeks ago, which has been making me feel exhausted while also robbing me of time. You get used to time being such a luxury while unemployed and then when you do start work again, your spare time is precious and you don’t necessarily use it well. Additionally, Man Piece and I have just bought a house (even though settlement isn’t until September), we’ve been preoccupied with sorting all that out.

But I thought it was high time that I dusted off this here blog again and contributed to the AC challenge once more.

This week’s theme is Leather – one which I am not short of options, albeit most of them pleather or wet-look. I decided to go for accessorising with leather items and keeping everything else subtle.

Items made of leather tend to be a lot more durable, so this week I decided to showcase my precious handbag as well as my boots which are fast becoming one of my best investments.
