Aussie Curves – Sparkle

I have a confession to make. I really struggled with this week’s Aussie Curves theme.

Most people probably wouldn’t have a problem coming up with something for Sparkle week. And although I love sparkly things, I finally realised I don’t actually own that many things that would fall into the category.

I have lusted over various sequin dresses and skirts (hello ASOS), but have never bought any. Mostly because I feel that the garment would be hard to clean and sequins have a tendency to fall off, so the beauty of the garment will not last. Thus I have avoided most sparkly pieces of clothing. Which left me struggling to come up with an outfit.

Then, I was laying in bed one night trying to get to sleep and suddenly thought, ‘I could use my gold glitter clutch! Huzzah!’

But where is that glitter clutch? Buried in a suitcase at Man Piece’s parents’ place. Darn.

Back to the drawing board.

Said clutch. Isn't it amazing and sparkly?

After some more thought I finally came up with something. It is kind of border-line sparkly, maybe more metallic, but I think it works.

This jumper has two parts to it. The super soft knitted pinkish-peach angora-like bits and the rose gold knitted mesh, essentially. I’m not really sure how to describe it. But it is FABULOUS. Very snuggly and warm, which will do me well this winter.

A bit of a close-up, so you can kind of see the meshy bits. It is a bit sparkly, I swear!

Because the jumper is quite a statement, I decided to keep the rest of my outfit rather neutral. I paired it with a pleather mini skirt and a pair of leggings. I love the contrast of the fluffy jumper with the pleather skirt.

To finish the outfit off, I wore my gold metallic flats.

Not as sparkly as I would have hoped my outfit to be, but it is definitely the best I can do right now. Currently my wardrobe is spread over three places, so it can be quite hard to remember what is where. It won’t be like this for much longer, as Man Piece and I are beginning the hunt for a house of our own and my wardrobe can be one again!

    • Thanks! 🙂 Since doing this, I’ve discovered more sparkle than I thought I have. Still all subtle though.

    • Thanks! That is very true. Being subtle it can just add a slight oomph to an outfit without going overboard.
