Aussie Curves – Nature

This week was my first week back at work, so I haven’t had too much time to even think about how Nature could be incorporated into Fashion for Aussie Curves.

But as Man Piece and I were out for our walk around the waterfront today, I realised that my ducky jacket, as it is now known, could definitely be within the definition of nature.

So on our way back, I got Man Piece to snap a couple of pictures.

Plus there was some nice trees around to use as the backdrop.

There were even real ducks right by where we stopped!

Hopefully I will be a bit more organised this coming week and make sure I get some photos earlier in the week.

Aussie Curves – Polka Dots

As it turns out, having your wardrobe spread out over three locations can be rather difficult and slightly deceptive at times. Currently I have clothes at my apartment – the ones I tend to wear most often – some stored at my parents place and even more stored at Man Piece’s parents’ place.

I thought I had this week down. I had planned to just take a few snaps of me in a casual outfit with my polka dot scarf I bought from Kikki K. No, why would life be that easy? Turns out said scarf is not located within my apartment currently and I’m not really sure where it is. Possibly in other two aforementioned locations.

I started to think I did not have anything else that had polka dots on it and I was very near sitting this week of Aussie Curves out, but, in a last ditch attempt, I went through every single piece of clothing which is currently resident of my apartment and I found a polka dot peplum top.

Farmers plus size changing room round-up

Queen’s Birthday weekend has just passed here in New Zealand and everywhere was having a sale. I decided to pop down to Farmers, which had up to 50% off women’s clothing. Also being back in NZ for two months now I wanted to gauge what the clothes are like in Farmers, as I haven’t shopped there for around two years.

If you are not from NZ, Farmers is a main-stream department store. Similar to Myer. It has all the make-up counters as well as clothing and home wares.

I headed down to the Lambton Quay store to have a look around. I have to say, I’m not a huge fan of the Lambton store. Everything feels shoved in there without much thought or space to move around. Even more so in the plus size section. There is no signage saying the clothes there are plus size and it is a very small space, more like a corner. The stands are jam-packed with clothes and are ridiculously close together. But somehow I managed to squeeze through the stands and find a few pieces to try on.

Aussie Curves – Spike

Spike is the Aussie Curves theme this week and I definitely do not have a shortage of clothing with spikes on.

I could have gone with my Kaleidoscope dress as it has spikes on the shoulders, but I used that for Bodycon week. I could have worn my leopard top, as that too has spikes on the shoulders, but, once again, I had already used that for Time Saver. I sure do like clothing with spikes.

So there I was, scratching my head, wondering what else did I have? When I finally remembered the cardigan I have with spikes on the shoulder. City Chic really does like putting spikes on its clothing, huh? And I can’t help but buy them.

Aussie Curves – Song

I didn’t really know what to do for this week’s Aussie Curves them ‘Song’. I started thinking that I would choose a song and then create an outfit which was inspired by that. Fairly straight forward. But what song?

There are so many songs. There are so many GOOD songs. There are also so many songs about fashion. Where to start?

At some point this week I managed to get Empire State of Mind by Jay Z and Alicia Keys stuck in my head. And it pretty much stayed there.

And because of that, this outfit managed to snake its way into my mind.
