Aussie Curves – Everyday Style

I had great plans for this week, but alas, life got in the way and I failed the goal I had set myself.

The idea for this week was that I was going to wear what I normally wear to work and just make sure I got an outfit photo everyday. The aim being at the end of five days I would have successfully posted a photo on Instagram every day and I would have five photos to make up the post for this week’s Aussie Curves challenge.

I managed two. Two out of five. Utter fail much?

My everyday style is quite simple. Usually it revolves around jeans and a top of some kind. Lately I have been rocking the singlet and jumper combo. Wellington has decided to turn on the cold finally (just when Spring is approaching!)

This was what I wore on Tuesday. I live in jeans mostly and I am loving my new TDFs. I have also been living in these boots lately. They are so comfy and great for the unknown weather currently.

I hummed and haaed about this jumper from City Chic. When I saw it online I had the intial “Ohhhh” moment, but when I tried it on in store I was in two minds about it. The lovely ladies at CC in Wellington held it for me over the weekend and I popped in on Monday to try it on again. I was wearing a different pair of jeans and it looked so much better with a pair of black (and now the TDFs) that I was convinced and bought it.

Jumper: City Chic
Scarf: Ezibuy
Boots: Ziera

If I’m not wearing jeans and a top you will usually find me in a dress and leggings. It is my other go-to everyday style.

As soon as I saw this dress I was in love. Sure, I have two other dresses in this same style, but the pattern on this one just had be at check meets animal print.

I paired it with one of my favourite pair of leggings – my wet-look ones from ASOS – along with my boots and of course the Princess Coat to help keep the cold away. Unfortunately two of the buttons have come off my coat and I need to stitch them back on. I just haven’t had the time. Oh well.

Dress: City Chic
Leggings: ASOS Curve
Boots: Ziera
Coat: City Chic

So that is my everyday style. I usually just vary these two outfits with different jumpers/jeans/dresses/leggings. But I find that the combination works for me. It’s easy to chuck on in the morning and they are both appropriate for work.

  1. Man, taking a photo everyday is hard work! Don’t beat yourself up, 2 days is a good effort in my books. I am really in love with the princess coat. I’ve been telling myself I don’t need it. TRYING to tell myself. 😛

    • It is so hard! Especially when I don’t have a full-length mirror currently. Oh well. It is a fabulous coat (it has been perfect on the cold Wellington days) – bonus the pink and blue ones are now on sale. (Not enabling.)

  2. I love love LOVE Your style so much Lisa. Having some clothing envy right now!

Honestly, don’t beat yourself up about it too much. You’ve obviously had a bit going on 🙂

    • Haha, thanks Ness! I feel like I’ve been neglecting my blog a bit lately. But I can only do what I can do.
