Waste of a trip.

Drove down to Wellington today. As I told my parents it is for “shits and giggles” so ya’ll are getting the same answer.

NO MORE QUESTIONS.

Most hilarious event of the day had to be me flinging the avocado stone across the kitchen. Completely unintentional. I was just trying to get it out and poof! Off it goes and bounced on the tiles. It sounded like a golf ball.

Mother and I lol’d saying, “That’s what golf balls are made of.”

WE ARE TOTES COOL. CAN’T DENY.

Anyway, in Wellington, I was so excited to see the bucket fountain. I squealed when I saw it and did a little skip. Actual. But once to the bucket fountain, it was turned off.

FUCKERS.

WHOLE TRIP RUINED.

I wanted to see the awesomeness that was the bucket fountain! I rage! It’s just so cool! You see the water pour from one to the next. Marvelous.

Obviously I have a small mind, because this small thing amuses me. I never said I had one the size of a melon. More like a pea.

Surprisingly, there is a life in there somewhere.

I really don’t have anything of consequence to write today, so we’ll keep it short and to the point.

I slept last night! Woo! Probably because it was much cooler. Thank gawd!

In it being so much cooler today, I decided to try out my GHD. OMG, my hair is so purdy. I can’t stop stroking it.

TIS NICE.

I had a pointless trip into town. Only had to do two things and neither were successful. But that is life.

Came home and did some washing, because I like clean clothes. Then did two job applications, yes TWO!

I’m on a roll, almost. I think I’d be on a roll, if I got more done, so this weekend will contain lots of that.

YAY FOR JOBS.

My Grandparents came out for dinner tonight, as it is my Grandfather’s 85th birthday. Gran is also 85, but her birthday was exactly two weeks ago. Yes, my Gran is a cougar. Apparently it runs in the family.

They are both going really strong still, with no signs of quitting. They have been a solid part of my life and I’m lucky to still have them, when I know a lot of people never knew their grandparents. They are even lucky enough to be great-grandparents and are actually going to meet their great-grandson in the coming months. Not many people can say that.

The rest of my night was spent on the internet, just doing the usual and now I am packing for an exciting weekend.

I TOTES HAVE A LIFE.

Epic is epic.

Today was another ridiculously hot uncomfortable day.

BLERG.

So, naturally, I decided to go shopping!

What a horrible idea. It was TOO hot. But I did get to spend some money. I swear, it was all necessity. Honest.

Things like singlets and leggings and underwear and bras. Things I haven’t been able to buy for ages, but in desperate need of buying.

I also did a LEETLE bit of naughty shopping – shopping I shouldn’t have done.

WHOOPS.

A diary from Smiggle. It’s rather awesome and before you say anything, yes, Napier has a Smiggle. We’re not that backwards down here.

Ok, that was kind of a necessity. I really did need a diary so I stop using my notebook for non-journalism related stuff, like writing lists of things I need to do each day. That can now go in my diary.

Diaries are totally awesome.

I also bought a pair of heels.

AWKWARD FACE.

I really don’t need anymore pairs of heels. I’m becoming addicted. I should do a count of how many I have now. You will all be :O. Also, I’m becoming more like Sister (SORRY SISTER, BUT IT’S TRUE)

They are cute shoes. Little boots with heels and a gold zip up the side and peep toe. Also cheap! Only $20 from Number One Shoes. They are teh awesome.

And some rings from Diva. I’m going through a ring phase at the moment, but I don’t really have any and Diva has good rings. One is a locket ring, I thought that was pretty rad. Another has what I can only describe as something like a disco ball on and the third is black with sparkly bits on.

When I got home, I crashed. Two nights with basically no sleep makes Lisa very tired.

ENTER THREE HOUR EPIC NAP.

I felt so much better after that. Unfortunately, in my post-nap mood I did not want to do any job applications. This means I need to do three tomorrow and as I’m not planning on doing much, this should be able to be done.

That is all.

Dud among brilliance.

Today has being ridiculously uncomfortable with the heat and the humidity, with no relief in sight.

It has been blur of a day. Just all hazy.

I had a chiropractor appointment. Ah sweet relief. Back feels so much better.

I then finally got my Christmas present from my parents and grandparents – a GHD hair straightener.

TOTAL FUCKING WIN.

Then when I got home from town, my grandparents were actually here, so hung out with them a bit. Then went for a swim.

There was so much crap on top of the pool from the tree, I must have spent about 20 minutes just clearing that off. Made me even hotter and the pool even sweeter when I finally got in.

It was an awesome swim. Ah sweet relief.

The rest of the day was spent being a bum on the internet. I have semi-done another job application. I just have to print something off, fill it in then scan it so I can email it with my application.

The aim is to do at least one a day. I technically haven’t done that today, so tomorrow I really have to finish that one and do the next.

This is a really boring, inconsequential post, but you’ve got it, because I’m still going strong with my one post a day. There is always bound to be a dud among the brilliance.

(This is the dud.)

Action!

Today has been all about getting my life back on track.

Starting with getting some form of income back into my bank account. That meant calling WINZ.

JOY OF JOYS.

Its hold music is awful, it needs to do something about that. But the good news, my benefit had not been canceled, only suspended. So by going in to the office and showing that I had not gotten any wages for the last month, it would be reinstated. With back pay!

THANKS TAX PAYERS.

I was then proactive about finding a job. Calling newspapers. One thing I have found is that the smaller community papers don’t advertise in mainstream job sites. They advertise within themselves. So if you’re not in the city, tough luck finding them. Thus why I’m being proactive. Calling them shows you’re keen and you find out if they have any jobs straight away.

Or at least that’s my thinking.

I found a few more suitable jobs on mainstream sites too and have applied for one. Also got two emails saying “We’re starting the shortlisting process. We’ll be in touch.”

So the action plan is looking good.

Zoom, zoom, zoom!

I watch far too much Scrubs.
