I get a new shiny and you can lick your armpit.

Nothing much to report on today, just like there was nothing to report on yesterday. Thus no post.

Two things of excitement today:

1. I got my new camera! A very purdy DSLR Canon 1000D *swoon*

2. I had to pack for Wellington. Yay!

So I’ve been playing with my camera a lot today. I plan to use the five hours on the bus to play with it a lot more though. Time well spent, me thinks.

I think tonight, I have perfected the art of packing. I don’t think you will actually believe how much stuff I got into my suitcase. Yes, it is bulging, but I’m pretty sure I have everything that I could possibly need while in Wellington for any eventuality of activities. Except anything like mountain climbing, but seriously? Me climb a mountain? (By mountain I mean off the track rugged terrain type mountain) Screw that.

Anyway, off to Wellington tomorrow by bus. I get to see Man Piece! This week has been crazy slow. I just wanted it to hurry up.

So sleep I must. I’m going to look like a bit of a retard tomorrow with all my bags. I have my suitcase, laptop bag, handbag, camera bag and a bag full of crap I’m going to take to Recycle Boutique to see if they can sell it.

It’s not really crap. It’s actually some quality shoes and some clothes that have barely been worn.

Oh and I have the tri-pod which I will most likely have to carry. What a weirdo, pack horse I’m going to look like.

Oh, and apparently you can lick your own armpit. Try it. You might like it.

Showers and cameras. I don’t actually mix them.

Showers are weird. Have you ever thought that? They’re actually weird.

How did they come about? History shows most people bathed in baths or had pots of water and cloths. I guess, thus the term “bathing”.

How did we evolve to stand under a spray of water?

It’s actually kind of absurd when you think about it.

Yes I have some random thoughts, but I think this one sprung from Sister finally being able to have an actual shower again.

Since the February 22 earthquake her and Brother-in-law have been using wet-wipes, bowls, flannels, showers in a can etc etc. Their hot water cylinder has finally been fixed and they can *technically* shower again.

Whether the water is safe or not is another question, but it’s not like they’ll be drinking it, right?

Anyway…

There’s a wiki page on the history of showers. The idea originally came from waterfalls (no surprises there, they are nature’s shower after all). Ancient Greeks were the ones to basically form what would look like the modern shower. However with the introduction of Christianity, washing ones self became a taboo.

Bloody Christianity – it has to be the biggest conspiracy of it all (but that’s possibly another discussion for another day).

It wasn’t until the 20th century that they because a common thing again.

I’m now wondering why the hell I felt the need to actually google “showers”. I actually did it. How do you think I found the wiki page?

Yes, feel free to commit me to an insane asylum now because I have just written an entire post about showers.

Maybe I should elaborate about the rest of my day?

Not much at all except, I can has new camera! Canon EOS 1000D with twin lens kit. I don’t have it yet, but I can go pick it up on Thursday. They didn’t have any in the Hastings store of Noel Lemmings, so they’re getting one in. Not sure where from. Probably Napier. They guy obviously wanted the sale though.

Ended up going to Noel’s because Harvey Norman’s had sold out and they person who told us this was not very helpful. Obviously, having an advertised special, once they sell out they get no more in. How ridiculous.

I went round to see friend with kid tonight. I think I’m allergic to cats. She has two tabby cats. The kitten really likes me and wouldn’t leave me alone. I sneezed a lot while I was there. I still am. My eyes are itchy, my throat feels weird and my hands are itchy and have these little white bumps forming on my fingers. :-/

My nose is now completely blocked.

I think I need to wait to try and sleep until the allergies have settled down a bit. So I might try and do another blog post or two on my other blogs and maybe some photography work.

I’m finally getting into it again and I can’t wait to start taking some awesome photos with my new camera. I’ll probably be putting them up on Tumblr, but I will link that if I feel like it. I’m undecided.

Camera was a birthday present from parents. My 24th birthday present. Sigh. 24.

I has to be a grown-up now?

Um…

I have only been up for about 12 hours right now. It’s just after 2am.

MAJOR FAIL.

I don’t know what it was, but I woke up at 11am, usual wake up time, all was good. Then I fell back to sleep! I don’t even know how. When I woke up again, it was just before 2pm. The only possible explanation that I can think of is that I needed sleep. But now I am here, two in the morning and I am not even a little bit tired.

Sometimes I hate my body.

I probably should have actually done something with my day, but I didn’t.

I did do some photography work and I did manage to apply for one job. That is a productive day right?

Probably should have gone for a walk or done two job applications.

It doesn’t matter how productive I think I am in a day, I can always do more. I struggle with motivation sometimes. Currently, I’m really struggling. I’m not seeing any rewards for all my effort, therefore I lose motivation. It’s a vicious never-ending cycle.

I need to see rewards, of sorts. When working, I can see the work that I have done – it ends up in print and it urges me on to do more. There’s also the added bonus of getting sweet, sweet money.

But right now, applying for job after job, I’m seeing no rewards. It might be alright if I was getting interviews for every one of those jobs I’m applying for, but I’m not.

It really doesn’t do anything for the motivation or confidence, I tell you.

OH WELL.

I guess my main motivation is getting out of Hastings again and getting my own place. It’s hard having to come back and live with parents when you’ve been out flatting for five years.

I’ve now been here for 14 months. That’s A LOT longer than what I expected.

I honestly don’t know where this post is going. I’ve just been rambling. Once again my ability to write inconsequential nothings takes over.

I achieved nothing today. There. End post.

Yesterday is today.

Even though it is today, this is yesterday’s post, because I didn’t really have much motivation when I was rather intoxicated last night to write one.

So yesterday (read: today) was a fairly lazy day. I was feeling like an emo dick, as Friend Lucy called me.

That made me laugh so hard, I snorted.

So on the advice of Lucy and t’other Friend Amy, I got out and did some photography.

Walked to the park, in which it was really hot outside and took, what I think, were some cool photos, which are now up on tumblr.

I looked at pictures of cats. They were awesome and cute and I want one so bad.

MUST FIND JOB AND GET OWN PLACE SO I CAN GET CUTE KITTY.

I can’t really remember what else I did in the afternoon. I signed up to formspring, this will most likely come to bite me in the arse. Or it may not last long. I’ve been avoiding it for months, so I really don’t know why I started one in the first place.

ME CRAZY.

I did make the conscious decision to drink the night away. And that I did.

Resulted in some interesting conversations and a particular craving for a zinger burger.

I HAD AN AMAZING CONVERSATION WITH LUCY OVER GOOGLE TALK. SHE IS AWESOME-O.

Seriously, follow her – @Vegrandis.

And then I slept like I had never slept before.

Rule 34.

Last night we discovered there is Captain Planet porn. Yes there really is. I’m not going to put it on here, but you’re quite welcome to google it for yourself.

This just really does confirm Rule 34, which I also learned last night.

Urban Dictionary describes it as: “generally accepted internet rule that states that pornography or sexually related material exists for any conceivable subject.

I did a lot of learning didn’t I? THANKS TWITTER.

I ventured into town today, went to the hairdresser to go buy my GHD straightener, but they were a bit more than I planned for – $359. However, it does come with a travel hairdryer and this really cool antique looking mirror. So I might just take the plunge and buy it. Which means I have to pull $59 out of my ass.

Fingers crossed for that job aye! Which I had the interview confirmed today. One job interview in Wellington on Monday. Yippee!

Then went to Pak’n’sav and I have to say, love the self check-outs. Although the check-out people are there to do it for you, they make awkward small talk, which I really didn’t have the time for, or care for.
So I slipped through the self check-out and didn’t have to talk to a single soul in the supermarket. I’d classify that as a win. Everybody in supermarkets annoy me.

Got my marks back for my photography assignment – 7/10. On to the next one then!

Went for a walk and played nice with some of the local mongel mob that were sifting round the streets of Flaxmere.
So here I am, sitting around like a lazy bum again watching Two and a half Men, which I can’t for the life of me, figure out why.

But tonight, I’m going to get some more job applications done, just in case, yanno. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket type thing and possible hit up some more photography. Also contemplating watching Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, because apparently TVNZ are not playing it on Sunday, but skipping straight to Goblet of Fire.

You must watch them in order! So says the God that is JK Rowling.

And according to Rule 34, there must be Harry Potter porn. Think about that one.

Ew.
