Paramore have a new single, ‘Monster’, which is going to be on the soundtrack to the new new Transformers film: Transformers: Dark Of The Moon.
After everything they have been through in the last few months, it’s nice to know they are still making music.
When the Farro brothers left the band, I was sure they were going to split for good. Or at least the band wasn’t going to be what it was.
But after listening to the new single a few times, it’s almost like nothing changed.
On the first listen, I didn’t think it was anything special, but having it on repeat, it is actually quite catchy. It has that same exuberance that most of their other songs have. Although I think Hayley does get drowned out a bit by the drums and guitars. Her voice doesn’t have that usual pizazz that you hear in songs like “Brick By Boring Brick”.
The single is to be released on June 7, album on June 14 and movie June 29.
I hope this is the beginning of more music coming from the band. I’m in desperate need for some new good music.
I am absolutely falling in love with Adele.
I’m going to blame @thatjohn for implanting the ear worm and Glee for confirming it.
My favourites at the moment are Rolling In The Deep, Turning Tables, Chasing Pavements, Someone Like You and Rumour Has It.
I’m not sure which songs are off which albums, but she has two ’19’ and ’21’. I kind of wonder how she named them. Was she that old at the time? It kind of fits.
This is the video for Rolling In The Deep, which is one that I have on repeat, because it is truly awesome. I love the video as well. Especially the glasses filled with water and it moves with the bass. Such cool imagery.
But you may recognise this song, Chasing Pavements. It was released a few years ago and I quite liked it at the time. When I started listening to her albums I had one of those “Oh it’s her!” moments. Don’t you just love those? It used to play quite a bit on C4, that’s how I know it, because I used to watch C4 religiously. Not so much nowadays.
And from listening to her albums I have really started to like Someone Like You, Turning Tables and Rumour Has It.
And one last one, Glee – Rolling in the Deep. Rachel Berry and Jessie St James. Oh *swoon* He is so sexy and his voice is amazing.
I’ve had two songs going round in my head for the last few days. Alternating.
The first is Rihanna’s S&M.
It’s really catchy and I love the newsprint type dress she is wearing right at the beginning of the video.
I actually don’t think I have ever realised what a good singer Rihanna is before either. In this video I really notice it, and dare I say it? Like it.
Must say, WARNING, some content in the video may offend or not be for youngins. Nothing in it disturbs me, but you never know. It’s probably more about the implication than anything.
The other is Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, which I have already blogged about.
But here’s the video again anyway.
Also, if you didn’t know, Gaga has released another single – Judas.
I really don’t know what to think about this one. With Born This Way I knew immediately that I liked the song.
But I just can’t figure out my feelings towards Judas. Man that sounds weird, Judas having betrayed Jesus and all. Could go both ways!
Watch this video:
Two questions for you.
1. Honey 2? WHY? The first one was bad enough.
2. Why is Kat Graham on Vampire Diaries and NOT Glee? Does not compute. Get that woman on Glee, STAT.
I hope this doesn’t flop, although I kind of feel it will, but it could end in disaster for Kat Graham. That would be sad because she has a lot going for her. Yanno, if she stopped using the auto tune so much in her videos and just sang.
Yes, she can sing too.
You can hear it in this one that appeared on Vampire Diaries:
But she has tended to go for the weird auto-tune on the rest of her songs.
Some of the pants she wears in this video are truly horrendous too.
She could be awesome if she had stayed away from Honey and auto-tune, but all I want to do now is mock.
Vampire Diaries still rocks though and she is awesome in that.
Love this song. It is so cute and happy >.<
It’s been playing on TV2 lately – using it for their new theme song or something like that.
@niceties had it on her blog, which is how I finally managed to know who and what the song was.
