Dud among brilliance.

Today has being ridiculously uncomfortable with the heat and the humidity, with no relief in sight.

It has been blur of a day. Just all hazy.

I had a chiropractor appointment. Ah sweet relief. Back feels so much better.

I then finally got my Christmas present from my parents and grandparents – a GHD hair straightener.

TOTAL FUCKING WIN.

Then when I got home from town, my grandparents were actually here, so hung out with them a bit. Then went for a swim.

There was so much crap on top of the pool from the tree, I must have spent about 20 minutes just clearing that off. Made me even hotter and the pool even sweeter when I finally got in.

It was an awesome swim. Ah sweet relief.

The rest of the day was spent being a bum on the internet. I have semi-done another job application. I just have to print something off, fill it in then scan it so I can email it with my application.

The aim is to do at least one a day. I technically haven’t done that today, so tomorrow I really have to finish that one and do the next.

This is a really boring, inconsequential post, but you’ve got it, because I’m still going strong with my one post a day. There is always bound to be a dud among the brilliance.

(This is the dud.)

To shan’t or not.

Shan’t is such a cool word.

Shan’t.

People should say it more. Why did people stop saying it? It reminds me of men in suits wearing top hats and carrying a cane. Come to think of it, why don’t men wear that more often? That’s hot. And so is the word Shan’t.

Shan’t is a contraction of “shall not” and is considered pompous or used to mock the British. I think this should change. It reminds me of Pride and Prejudice.

Pride and Prejudice is cool!

Another cool word is zamboni. Zamboni. Just love how it rolls of the tongue.

These are just a couple of thoughts I’ve had today. Nothing too spectacular. Shan’t came from me going for a walk and I said to Mother, “I shan’t be long”, which got me thinking of why people don’t use it anymore. They should.

And, well, I’m being lame and watching Ice Princess, which is where Zamboni came from. I used to think this movie was awesome. It’s absolutely shit balls. The acting is atrocious. At least I haven’t seen all of it, I’ve also been teaching Father how to use facebook. Haha, awkward.

So, I finally finished the fifth Percy Jackson book. Shall do a brief review of sorts over on t’other blog. But now I have to make the hard decision of which book to start reading now? Or finish reading, I have three more on the go.

Perhaps I’ll try finish Pride and Prejudice, or I shan’t!

Hehe, see what I did there?

Yeah… time I stopped.

I pronounce myself as MAJOR AWESOME *salutes*

Today has been rather hectic.

I made a cheesecake – caramel and chocolate for dessert tonight and also three salads, which kept me in the kitchen most of the day.

I even discussed with @mitchyyyyy about sending him a cake. He was worried their courier would eat it, but I suggested hiding it in a book. This plan will come to fruition. Mitchyyyyy-moo will get his cake. Honest.

I am quite exhausted and all gross because of that whole sweating while cooking thing. I’ll tell you, boiling potatoes in 28 degree heat is really unpleasant.

I would totes make someone a good wife, the only thing I ask of you is to remove me from this hell hole I call Hastings. Seriously. Any takers?

I was even a good granddaughter and went and retrieved my grandparents from Napier airport because they returned today from two weeks in Sydney.

AM I AWESOME OR WHAT?

However, I did break the cardinal rule of fashion and wore leggings as pants today. Not for exercise, but out in public. You should shun me, honestly shuuuuun, shuuuuuuu-uuu-uuuuun. But, a slight reprieve, I had a long glassons singlet on and my long collar shirt – they tend to cover everything worth flashing. I kept my dignity. I’m a lady.

So finally, I am able to sit down. I’ve just been go-go-go all day. Although not as busy as I would be if I was working, it was a busy day for this unemployed schmuck.

But now, I have to put my brain in gear and write some cover letters. JOY OF JOYS.

Splishin’ and a splashin’

Today was hot, like actual. I lounged around a bit on my bed with a nice breeze coming in my window, but it was not enough.

I donned my new fancy-pants togs that I bought a few weeks ago and jumped in the pool. Devine.

I skipped the walk today, because my exercise was in the pool. I made sure I was swimming the lengths for about half an hour. It was kind of hilarious getting out though, with my bung knee and back currently. It was reminiscent of a beached whale flailing around on the shore. It helped my togs are blue.

Seriously, flailing.

That’s really the only exciting thing that happened today, if you can call it exciting. It’s more mundane. Or just a bit like “OMG I CAN SWIM!” Congrats you’re like 95 per cent* of the population!

Did you know di-hydrogen oxide contributes to 99.9 per cent** of all drownings? I think we should get it banned. That’s some killer statistics there. You’re probably wondering what contributes to the other 0.1 per cent. My vote goes to mercury. That shit is fierce.

*I made up this statistic.
**This one too.

How… meh.

Turns out staying up till 5am watching videos of people popping boils and cysts on youtube does not make for a very productive day.

I caught the tale end of the John Barrowman documentary, I love him. It breaks my heart he is gay. Then watched Nancy Drew of all things. Never been an ND fan, not having read the books or anything, so I was a bit miffed about the entire movie. I also caught Greek. It’s such a good programme, but I hate how NZ television only ever plays it on weekend afternoons. Some programming choices shock me. It’s not just Greek.

Then I shocked myself and actually did some exercise. Yes, I actually went for a walk. Took me 30 minutes too, so I’ve met that requirement for the day.

Naturally with exercise, comes music. Listened to one of my playlists of songs that I named “over and over”, because I can listen to them over and over without getting sick of them:
1. When I look at you – Miley Cyrus
2. Poker Face – Glee Cast
3. The Flood – Escape the Fate
4. Monsters – Matchbook Romance
5. Swing Life Away – Rise Against
6. Teenage Dream – Glee Cast
7. Man in the Mirror – Michael Jackson
8. Brick by boring brick – Paramore
There is more to the playlist, but that’s all I got through on my walk. It was hot and the sun was shining. Didn’t want to spend too much time out there.

Watched some Scrubs, because me and Scrubs are synonymous, then fell asleep watching the news. #fail

Now I’m watching Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. It has to be my least favourite movie and book out of the seven. I still enjoy it, but not favourite.

Perhaps tonight I should not stay up late watching videos of boils and cysts being squeezed on youtube. It takes it out of you. It even took my funny sarcastic ways. But there is something strangely satisfying about it seeing one being squeezed, because you don’t get that many yourself. Haha. Maybe I should stop talking about cysts.

Tomorrow I aim to bring the funny back somehow, but tonight, I’ll finish watching HP then maybe try watching 10,000 BC, but it may be a bit out of my taste range. Also going to try and finish reading the 5th Percy Jackson. I’m so close!

I did say my life was thrilling! /sarcasm
