How amazing does that sound? Cookie dough. Pretzel. Bites.
Delicious.
One of the many baking blogs I follow is Sally’s Baking Addiction. The recipes she comes up with are just superb and I want to make them all. And then possibly bath in them.
So, when work decided to hold a bake sale to raise funds for the NSW bush fires, I knew immediately what I was going to make to get a few gold coins out of people.
And thus, cookie dough pretzel bites.
They are really easy to make and the cookie dough is made without egg (so it’s safe to eat. Although I know many of you don’t care about salmonella.)
I feel a ‘coooooooookies’ is appropriate right now.
You roll the cookie dough into balls and press a pretzel on either side, then chill them before dipping them in chocolate.
These went down really well with everyone, but be warned, they are very rich. One of these and I’m done.
I think if I am to make these again, which in all honesty, probably, I will create slightly smaller balls before sandwiching them between the pretzels. I feel it was just a bit too much cookie dough per pretzel and chocolate.
Here is a selection of other baking made by my collegues that was on sale:
I believe we raised over $200 in total, which will go to the Red Cross to aid those affected by the NSW bush fires.
I have been thinking for awhile that it was time to buy my own domain.
Because these things confuse me a little, I got Man Piece to investigate.
About half an hour ago he said some stuff and basically told me what I had to do with wordpress to have my own domain, but keep everything the same.
So the only thing that has changed is instead of seeing lisarapley.wordpress.com in the url, you will now see lisarapley.com. Everything is still where it was and I am told everything will just redirect from the old wordpress domain.
You don’t even have to update your RSS feeds. How snazzy.
And considering the amount of money I spend on clothes in a year, the $18 cost for registration was nothing.
Also, as this blog celebrated its fourth birthday back in August, which I totally missed, it was definitely time to grow up a bit.
So I haven’t posted an ‘On The Web’ post in the last few weeks. I kind of got interrupted by my trip to Wellington and then just stopped doing them. Anyway, I’m wanting to change the posts up a bit, but still do them. I’m aiming to give them a bit of structure each week instead of just articles I have read and cover a few main categories.
The categories I’m wanting to do each week – and these are hopefully going to broaden my horizons a little – are:
Favourite Buzz – I love Buzzfeed and I could spend hours reading the articles. So instead of having an entire post of articles from the site, I am going to choose one. It’s going to be hard, but I’m up for the challenge.
Favourite Image – I love photography. People take some amazing photos and I’m hoping that I will find one incredible image a week. They may in majority come from Instagram, of which I am not ashamed to admit, because it is such a great image app.
Interesting Article/Blog – This will be a bit more in-depth. Either a great blog I have read or a feature article. Something that might make people think.
Fashion Love – This is a fairly vast topic. It could either be an item I have seen on the web, or a blog from one of the many fashion bloggers I follow. But it will be fashion related. Cause fashion is awesome.
Grabby hands – This, as it suggests, is something that I want. When I covet something I usually say or make the grabby hands (pincer motions, ok, basically I look like a crab when I do them).
Video – I tossed up about whether to include this one, but the fact is I do watch a lot of music videos and movie trailers each week.
And so, on to this week’s lot!
favourite buzz
Ok, so I know I said I was going to choose one, but I have been a bit busy in the past week and have been creating a few Buzzfeed articles myself. So how can I choose just one of my precious articles to feature here? Well, I can’t. I promise next week it will just be one. Promise.
This article from Daily Life basically summarises how I feel about diets and weight loss regimes. I’ve given up on them and I couldn’t be happier. It is about just about being healthy and happiness is a part of that.
It is an open letter from a former weight loss consultant to her clients apologising for, essentially, doing her job. I particularly love the quote at the end, “Just eat food. Eat real food, be active, and live your life. Forget all the diet and weight loss nonsense. It’s really just that. Nonsense.”

This one has to go to Demi Lovato this week. I copied her style for Aussie Curves – Celebrity Copy Cat because I am loving her style right now. It is definitely to my tastes and I think I might have to copy some more of her outfits.
grabby hands
I really want this dress from City Chic and I know when I go to try it on – because I will – that if it does not fit I am going to bawl my eyes out in the changing rooms. I also have a $30 voucher to spend and I’m hopeful that this week is the week that the new Pitt St store opens. Saturday means shopping!

This week is very Demi Lovato driven, I have to say. But in finding the Aussie Curves inspiration, I came across a few live performances she did for The Grammys. Just stripped down amazingness. There are three performances and a short interview in this playlist. Enjoy.
At the start of this week I had no idea which celebrity style I wanted to copy. My mind was blank.
Finally Friday rolled around and I thought, I need to pick *someone*. So I turned to Pinterest for some inspiration. I started looking through celebrities and women’s fashion, but wasn’t really finding anything. Then I stumbled upon a photo of Demi Lovato and everything just fell in to place. Within five minutes I had an entire outfit planned.
This seems to be her current go-to outfit, and I have to say, I love it. Perfect mix of rock, grunge and glam. I also LOVE her neon blue hair right now. (No, I haven’t gone that far in celebrity copy cat, but one day I would love to dye my hair blue. One day…)
Anyway, here is what I have come up with. It’s kind of a mix of the two photos of her.
I actually went all out for this and I had so much fun. I planned the hair, make-up and jewelry. All fitting in with Demi’s style.
My t-shirt is actually one I have had for ages and I still love wearing it. Yes it does say “Make cupcakes not war”, cause I love cupcakes and don’t like war. It is from Johnny Cupcakes, an American clothing brand that does all sorts of cool tees and clothing, as well as accessory type things. I chose this tee for the outfit because I don’t have any of my band t-shirts with me here in AU, but I think it still fit with the style.
In the photos Demi has several chains, so I layered a couple of my normal necklaces I wear, just because I don’t own any chunky chains. I also wore a few cuffs/spiky bracelets, which she tends to wear quite often.
I even painted my nails black for the occasion. Dedicated. It is Midnight in NY by Sally Hansen. It’s a great nail polish as it has a bit of glitter in it. It also has a nice flat brush which allows for easy application, and it is fast drying.
And of course the outfit wouldn’t be complete without a bit of make-up. Demi was wearing a bright red lipstick, so I decided to pull out mine. This is Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede in Trendsetter. I love it because it really does stay on once set and doesn’t come off on glasses etc. Also note my bling earrings. Demi had a pair on as well.
So what do you think? Did I nail it? Also, new photo wall – AMAZING.
Leggings: ASOS curve T-shirt: Johnny Cupcakes Jacket: City Chic Heels: Grace Hill, Ezibuy Jewelry: cuff off a pair of shoes from Target, spike bracelets and earrings from Diva/Lovisa, necklaces from Tiffany’s and a market stall in Chatswood, cat ring from ASOS the other one I made myself from a button.

So it turns out I actually don’t own a lot of pink clothes. The weird thing is that I thought I owned more pink than I actually do and I possibly do, it might just be packed up in boxes in New Zealand. I left a fair few clothes there a year ago and haven’t retrieved any of them.
I also tend to stick to the blacks, greys and blues in my wardrobe. It’s what I feel comfortable in.
But I do have this new singlet.
When I put it on and asked Man Piece if it was pink enough he replied that no, it’s purple and I was all, no it’s pink. We settled that it is pinky-purple. (But more pink.)
I think this is going to be my new photo taking place. It’s a lot better than looking back to the street and much lighter than the blank wall of my apartment. Success!
I paired the top with my black ponte blazer. It is honestly one of the best purchases I have ever made. I wear it constantly.
Spijkerkat was singing its praises in last week’s stripes post. It really should be a staple of City Chic’s line. I would have featured it in my stripes post as well, but I have been rather unorganised since returning from NZ and didn’t do one.
Anyway, back to the pink singlet. When I saw it, there was a bit of ‘ooooh, I really like that, must have it’ thing going on. Then there was the 20% off everything sale at City Chic and it was mine.
Singlet top: City Chic Jeans: Mink Denim, Myer Blazer: City Chic Shoes: Diana Ferrari
