My first ASOS order.

I did it. I finally did it. I have placed my first ASOS order.

I have been so dubious about the whole thing that I have never fully committed.

There have been so many items of clothing I have liked over the past few months, but I could never bring myself to buy them because of not being able to try them on before parting with my hard-earned dosh.

I would see so many things I would love to own, they would be reasonably priced and I would ignore them. Just because I didn’t want to have the hassle of getting them, them not fitting and having to return them.

Then I would return several months later and see the same items at a reduced rate! And still I would not buy.

But after agonising over it for several days and doing a lot of research into sizing where I compared measurements with City Chic (because I know my size there), I finally succumbed and splurged a little.

I just hope everything is the right size and I don’t have to return anything. Because I really, really don’t want to. Because I love them all.

Below is what I am anxiously awaiting to arrive.

Teal lace dress with off the shoulder:

Skater dress in skull boarder print:

Smart duckling tee:

In diamonds we trust tee:

Leggings in denim look. (Yes, jeggings. I’m so ashamed to admit it myself, please don’t judge me. I swear I will not wear them as pants. I reckon they will look great with the skull dress. NO PANTS, I promise. Please don’t judge me.)

jeggings

So that’s my first order. If all goes well, it probably won’t be my last. I’ll keep you posted.

My precious.

For the last six months I have been coveting one of Coach’s legacy leather duffle bags in tourmaline.

In fact, it is this one right here:

I even blogged about how much I wanted it back in January.

And now I have it:

To be quite honest, half of the allure was actually getting the dust cover and massive carry bag as well.

IMG_20130610_153401

IMG_20130610_154214I’m a sucker for dust covers and massive carry bags.

Having been using the bag for the last couple of days, I’m more in love with it than when I was just staring at pretty pictures. I can definitely see this bag being with me for, well, the rest of my life. It is made of leather, after all, ensuring some level of quality.

So, yay for my first designer, and leather, handbag!

Side note: I’ve also got my eye on a couple of other things at Coach in the same colour – a wallet and a legacy leather swingpack. Although it will possible take me another six months to get one of them, if at all. Cause, goddamn, I have expensive tastes.

Fashion Fabulous: City Chic has a sale – I spend up large

I love clothes. I especially love clothes from City Chic. It is my favourite store, and pretty much the only store that I shop from. So when they have a sale, like the one they had last week, I shop a lot.

Adding to this is that Sydney has started to get colder and I find myself in the predicament that is I have no winter clothes because I left them all in New Zealand.

In the CC sale I bought a few basics and few statement pieces. All of them pretty much more than 50% off. Win!

So here are some of the new additions to my wardrobe.

The Two Cats Top with one of last year’s black blazers with stripped lining, paired with Rock My World skinny jeans, now sold-out online.

One where I actually show my face! Notice the studded detail on the shoulder – very in this season.

I bought several of these Basic Puff Sleeve tops. They are so comfortable and come in numerous colours. I got them in this blue colour, teal, black, and purple. they will serve me well over winter in Sydney. Paired with the skinny jeans again.

Paired here with the Studded Military Jacket. I coveted this for quite some time and resisted buying it at full-price. When it went on sale, there were no questions about buying it. I love it. This has also sold-out online. Here you can also see the detail on the back pockets of the jeans.

Here is the black puff sleeve top, which goes well with Baroque Print skirt, which is sold-out. Ain’t that the way with sales!

And here I am trying to actually be a model. Yeah, nah.

IMG_2772_1

This is the Lace Contrast tunic. Lace is amazing – delicate and pretty, it adds nice detail to plain pieces.

I paired the tunic with the Lace Panel leggings. Possibly a bit too much lace for one outfit, but I don’t care – I LOVE LACE. (Also, Man Piece hasn’t quite mastered the art of getting photos in focus – if only I could be in the photos and take them.)

This is the Dark Lace tunic, again with the lace! It is the same cut as the Lace Contrast tunic, but totally different. I paired with the Lace Panel leggings again.

Below is the Sequin Stripped Jumper. It’s quite a light jumper, so will be good over a singlet, but under a jacket. Man Piece says I look like a panda. I’m fine with it. I’m also wearing my TDF Apple Skinny jeans – the hands-down best jeans I have ever owned. If you want a pair of jeans, get these, or at least the TDF jeans to suit your body style, you cannot go wrong. I have a plain black singlet on underneath.

IMG_2750_1As you can see, I definitely splurged a little. There is just something about City Chic I cannot resist – the clothes fit and they are definitely my style.

Yay for new clothes!

My lips are sealed

Over the last few weeks I have gone a bit lipstick/lip colour mad. I really can’t help it if I see pretty lip colours while perusing the latest OZSale. I have also found a few new cool types of lip colour, which I just could not resist.

I’ve never been a huge fan of the traditional lipstick. I’ve usually gone for glosses or balms. Lipstick has always just been a bit too heavy for me and I found that the colour would never stay long. Especially if you’re drinking. *cue lip stains on every single glass*

Six is not too many, right?

Six is not too many, right?

A happy in-between which I have fallen in love with, is Revlon’s ColourBurst Lip Butter. I  now have three colours. By accident, I swear! There are 20 to collect…

I originally purchased Cupcake and Gumdrop – very much an impulse buy because as soon as I saw them I felt an instant need to have the colours in my life. I then got Sugar Plum in a giveaway from Priceline.

They go on super easy like a balm, but have amazing colours like lipstick. The best thing is that you don’t really have to worry about lip lines either. However, the colour does disappear quickly, so you have to reapply a bit like lipstick, but they are so lush I really don’t mind!

A tip from Maegan Tintari, or at least her mum, is to combine two of them. I do actually do this occasionally with the Cupcake and Gumdrop – it creates another colour, so from two, you get three!

Next is Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. I really love these ones because it is like a giant crayon and provides excellent colour. Added bonus of it been a balm – whenever I wear it my lips feel a bit tingly and there is a smell of menthol.

Colours are Darling and Romantic (the red one).

Lastly is Revlon’s Colourstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick and this one is the ultimate. First time I wore this lipstick the colour was strong AND it did not come off all over my glass. The lipstick stayed on my lips and I did not have to reapply – BRILL!

I have it in Trendsetter, which is such a feroch colour, and am really tempted to go and buy more. I am refraining though. For now.

There was absolutely no intention to make this blog all about Revlon, just turns out they have some pretty awesome lip colours out at the moment, which really suit me. They are also affordable – all were around the $15-$20 mark. Not excessive and you know you’re going to get a decent lip colour.

Fashion of the Oscars.

Ok, so I’m like a week late in doing this post. Seriously, I’ve had the tabs open of what dresses I liked all week.

This isn’t a best dressed and worst dressed post, unlike last year. These are just the dresses that I liked.

Some appeared on best dressed lists and some appeared on worst dressed lists, but that is all relative to your taste and style.

So here is what I liked from the Oscars fashion this year:

Nina Dobrev in a Naeem Khan gown – prints are totally the ‘in’ thing right now.

Jennifer Garner in Gucci – the colour is just amazing.

Amy Adams in Oscar de la Renta, which she apparently helped to design. LOVING IT.

JLaw in Dior, naturally. Absolutely love this dress. JLaw is flawless. Except, yanno… when she fell over in it.

Zoe Saldana in Alexis Mabille – I love the semi-ombre look and how it is short on one side and a train on the other.

Catherine Zeta Jones in Zuhair Murad. Love the gold.

Naomi Watts in Armani. The neck detail is gorgeous.

Kristen Stewart in Reem Acra. I really love this dress, even though so many said they didn’t. She does need to do something with her hair though. The unbrushed loose look with an evening gown just does not work.

Nicole Kidman in L’Wren Scott. The gold on black just stands out.

I wasn’t going to mention any dresses that I didn’t like, but there was one that I just had to mention.

Melissa McCarthy in David Meister.

I love Melissa McCarthy, she is absolutely superb, but this dress does her absolutely no favours. Firstly, why would David Meister think this dress was actually nice? It’s ghastly. Secondly, why would MC’s stylist dress her in such a thing? Gurrrl, whoever helped dress you, send them packing, if not for the choice in dress, but for the hair.
