When I think of resort wear I think of the clothes that I would wear over my swimsuit when heading to the beach or pool.
So for me that is probably a loose fitting top and a pair of shorts.
Let’s talk about these shorts for a second. I only bought them on Saturday and already I am in love. I think I might have been in love with them before I even bought them. They’re the City Chic TDF Apple shorts. They have all the benefits of the full-length jeans, but in short form. Same material, same elastic hidden in the waist and same awesome fit. As I haven’t had a chance to wear them that much, they are yet to be stretched a little bit, thus why I do have a little bit of a muffin top. But I don’t really care – they will relax with wear, and look at how amazing my legs are?!
In wearing these to the beach or pool, I would just pull them on over top of my togs. I find denim is good when you have been in the water and need to put clothes on without taking the time to dry, because, although they will get wet, they don’t let you get cold. Not that I will be getting cold here in Sydney. Phwor.
I’ve also fallen for this top in a big way. I picked it up in a recent ASOS sale and at first I thought it might be a bit small. But in wearing it, it stretched out a bit and now I think it is going to be one of my favourite pieces this season. I’ve been wearing it with jeans, leggings and my shorts. It kind of goes with everything.
I really tossed up about putting the above photo in this post – look at my face! I look so unimpressed. Man Piece just happened to snap me at a bad time. The whole reason I did include it is because apart from my persnickety face, I’m happy with how my body is looks. My legs look slim and there is no sign of muffin top. Winner in my books.
As soon as I saw this bag I was like a moth to a flame. It was the colour. I love the teal/mint colours at the moment. Plus it is so soft and I think perfect for packing all my belongings in when heading to the beach or pool. It is sure going to get some use in the next couple of weeks. (Look out Gold Coast.)
Finishing off my resort outfit is, naturally, a good pair of sunnies and some jandals. My other pair broke last week, so I had to go buy another pair. These ones have an awesome galaxy print on them, but I think I might have to invest in a few cheap pairs as well.
Probably a bit of an unconventional outfit compared to the other ladies, but it is my interpretation of the theme. Make sure you click through below to see the other outfits put together. I am loving the use of bright kaftans in the posts so far, so much that I might need to go find one for myself!
Singlet: Inspire from ASOS
Shorts: TDF Apple from City Chic

YES. I HAVE THESE SHORTS IN BLACK. I post outfit pics in these ALL THE TIME. Tomorrow they are on sale for $30! Ahhh, I can’t tell you how much of a staple these shorts are. They make your legs look fabulous and everything just looks so right and effortless.
Also I totally didn’t notice your face until you commented– I was checking out that top and bag :X
I totally agree with you on these shorts – they are definitely a staple! I’m so gutted I paid full price when they were on sale only a few days later, but at the same time when I looked at the website, they didn’t have them in my size to buy more. So it was probably for the best.
I just wish I had have been smiling in the photo – it would have made it so much better!
Loooooove that tank! And the tote is awesome. Great resort post, it immediately makes me think of summer holidays.
I have actually being wearing the tank everyday I’ve been in the GC. It has been a lifesaver with the heat.
I’m glad to hear the TDF shorts are as awesome as the jeans! you have great legs !
Thanks! I’ve been wearing them quite a bit this week. Love them.
Absolutely love the colour of that bag! x
