Buses are gross.

Bus rides can usually be quite good. You can hide and essentially be by yourself for the amount of time it takes to get to your destination. Plus it’s cheaper than driving and you can nap!

However, yesterday’s bus trip to Wellington, was kind of horrible.

There were so many people. To the point that at Palmerston, it was full. Somebody in every seat. Blerg. People.

There was a crying baby, a kid that kept running up and down the aisle – um, HELLO, we’re in a moving vehicle, not like a plane, please restrain your child and it was filled with Hawke’s Bay’s finest.

Basically, if I looked at them funny they would likely punch me. I was actually a little scared. Also paranoid about leaving my stuff on the bus. Especially my new baby (CAMERA WOO!)

In planes, you can kind of handle the cramped space, you’re only in it for about an hour when you’re going anywhere from anywhere in NZ. But five hours in a bus, where you can’t stretch out and the person in front has pushed their seat back?

UNCOMFORTABLE.

Anyway, I just have to keep reminding me that it was only $24 to get down here, instead of the $75 to fill my car (then have to worry about parking) or whatever the cost to fly out of Napier, which at its cheapest is about $118.

I think to avoid the uncomfortableness next time, I will avoid the 2pm Friday bus. Try and get one early in the morning or not on Friday. I would say there would be less people travelling then. I think it was just because it was the last bus to Wellington before the weekend, thus the high number of people. There were a few students (probably boarders) on there in uniform – going home for the weekend etc.

At the end of the day, I made it to Wellington and got to see Man Piece. He also bought me burger and onion rings. He’s such a good provider.

I get a new shiny and you can lick your armpit.

Nothing much to report on today, just like there was nothing to report on yesterday. Thus no post.

Two things of excitement today:

1. I got my new camera! A very purdy DSLR Canon 1000D *swoon*

2. I had to pack for Wellington. Yay!

So I’ve been playing with my camera a lot today. I plan to use the five hours on the bus to play with it a lot more though. Time well spent, me thinks.

I think tonight, I have perfected the art of packing. I don’t think you will actually believe how much stuff I got into my suitcase. Yes, it is bulging, but I’m pretty sure I have everything that I could possibly need while in Wellington for any eventuality of activities. Except anything like mountain climbing, but seriously? Me climb a mountain? (By mountain I mean off the track rugged terrain type mountain) Screw that.

Anyway, off to Wellington tomorrow by bus. I get to see Man Piece! This week has been crazy slow. I just wanted it to hurry up.

So sleep I must. I’m going to look like a bit of a retard tomorrow with all my bags. I have my suitcase, laptop bag, handbag, camera bag and a bag full of crap I’m going to take to Recycle Boutique to see if they can sell it.

It’s not really crap. It’s actually some quality shoes and some clothes that have barely been worn.

Oh and I have the tri-pod which I will most likely have to carry. What a weirdo, pack horse I’m going to look like.

Oh, and apparently you can lick your own armpit. Try it. You might like it.

Crazy good, or crazy bad?

I know I am way behind the times with this one, but I have to have this on my blog.

I was watching Ellen and she had Matt Damon on for the first time in her eight year history. As she does, she made a parody movie clip – “Matt Damon as Lady Gaga in Bourne This Way”.

LOLZ.

Anyway, this reminded me that I still hadn’t watched the video for “Born This Way”. To youtube I went!

I have listened to the song, several times and I love it. It almost makes me want to get up and dance, which is not a common thing for me.

I don’t dance.

The video is so crazy and creepy! Like even crazier that Lady Gaga.

It’s like you measure crazy on a scale and Lady Gaga is up there at the “bat-shit-crazy” end, but still on the right side of “crazy-brilliant”, so it’s all good. Yanno, she’s just shy of “Charlie Sheen crazy”.

However this video makes me question whether she hasn’t flipped her lid and lost the brilliant part. The song itself is awesome, the video – is just insane.

You should watch it for yourself if you haven’t seen it.

Seriously, weird ass birthing type scenes. Blerg.

Obsessed song is obsessed.

I’m really loving Colbie Caillat and Jason Mraz “Lucky” right now.

I think it’s a combination of hearing it on Glee and Drop Dead Diva (two of my favourite TV programmes right now).

Can’t get enough of it. I also like singing along to it pretending I’m a singer or something.

We all do it. You know you do. Don’t laugh.

Sidenote: Blogger is being weird and won’t find the video to insert, so I’m just going to have to link it.

Weirdo.

Official video for Lucky.
