Aussie Curves – Handbag

I love a good handbag and I have searched far and wide for one that could end all handbags. But I’ve since realised that I can’t just stop at one. There are always going to be more that I want.

So instead, I’ve stopped looking at the cheap ones that I can easily buy on a whim. I’ve never had much luck with them anyway. I usually use them for a few weeks and then begin to hate them. Inevitably, I stop using them and they then sit around never to see the outside world again.

When we left Sydney, I donated a lot of clothes to the Salvation Army in Darlinghurst. My donation also included five handbags, which had already had their heyday with me. I’d moved on.

I’ve already talked about my beloved Coach bag – my first designer one which I had lusted after for months before finally buying it on sale. I still have it. I currently don’t use it as it desperately needs some leather conditioner put on it, which I just haven’t gotten around to. So it’s just sitting there, waiting.

I’m currently using a bag I picked up from Farmers, a Nica bag, which is the perfect size for something I use everyday. It fits my wallet, iPad, phone, and a few other bits and pieces. Occasionally a water bottle too.

I like that it has a long shoulder strap as well as the two handles. Bags that have both of these are usually a win for me.

It also has two front pockets which are great for my Snapper card, work ID, house keys and a few lip balms, so they don’t get lost in the big pocket.

But the thing that sold it for me, was this cute little pattern on the side. It turns a black bag into something a little different.

I also have my Kate Spade bag I picked up on my last trip to Australia. It’s big enough to fit my laptop in, which is exactly what I wanted from it.

Aussie Curves – Activewear

This week’s Aussie Curves theme is Activewear. I’ve spent a lot of time hunting for some good exercise gear that was actually cool, comfortable and fit me.

I came across a new brand in Farmers a few months ago called Super Fit Curve (they also have a straight size line). The items are bright and comfortable. I’m definitely keen to keep an eye out for when more items are released.

Aussie Curves – Night Out

Hi! I’m still alive. Kind of.

I haven’t been feeling that great about what I have been wearing or what I look like lately. So mostly I’ve just been avoiding it all and wearing/doing the bare basics.

Which means I have not been feeling inspired to do any Aussie Curves posts or outfits (even just to an Instagram fall-back). I’m not really sure why either, just feeling blah about it all.

But today I am going to attempt a short and sweet post for Night Out.

A happy coincidence meant that Man Piece and I actually did have a night out this week to Empire, which is currently showing in Wellington. (It’s like the circus meets burlesque, with a whole heap of funny thrown in there. Definitely worth going to.)

We had a bit of food at Mac’s Brewbar…

Then indulged in a bit of a show…

(All the sticks are balanced carefully on his head.)

And I managed to get Man Piece to get a picture of my outfit…

Aussie Curves – Tee

This week’s Aussie Curve theme is Tee. I have been thinking all week which tee to wear and trying to figure out which one I have available to me that I have not used in a blog before. I was almost going to pass on this week (because I’m sick, again), but then I remembered there was a t-shirt that I haven’t blogged about and that I do actually have in my tiny apartment wardrobe.

I’m sure you’ll all recognise it, it’s one you’ve seen many times before, just not on me.

Aussie Curves – Job Interview

This week I had grand plans to put together my outfit for Aussie Curves – Job Interview early and get it all blogged and done before Friday.

But the best laid plans and all…

Sure, I had put it off for a couple of days because I hadn’t quite figured out the entire outfit, but I was getting there. Thursday was going to be the day.

Then in the early hours of Thursday morning I had a rather rude awakening in the form of my dinner deciding to come back up (gross). I won’t go into any other details, but two days off work and four days later after a diet of not very much, I’m still not feeling that great. But I am getting better.

Which is why, at the last hour, I have come to write my Job Interview post for Aussie Curves.

Last night I spent a few hours going through multitudes of photos sorting them into various folders to try and find a couple of photos of my outfits from when I was actually interviewing for jobs a few months ago. Lucky for you, I found them.
